Christianne van Leest

Christianne heeft zich gedurende de opleiding ontwikkelt als docerend maker. Ze is onder andere werkzaam binnen het sociaal artistieke werkveld waar ze lesgeeft en choreografieën (op locatie) maakt met inclusieve doelgroepen. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan ouderen, fysiek of verstandelijk beperkten, maar ze werkt ook met kinderen, tieners en volwassenen en combinaties hiervan. Christianne werkt en geeft het liefst les binnen de stijlen improvisatie, modern, jazz en urban contemporary. Ook vindt ze interactie binnen haar lessen en choreografieën belangrijk. Zo heeft ze aan ArtEZ een tweejarig Honours Programme afgerond. Hiervoor deed zij artistiek onderzoek naar publieksinteractie binnen choreografieën. Nu betrekt ze de kennis uit dit onderzoek in haar werk.
Christianne is ook ondernemend in de kunstwereld op andere vlakken. Zo heeft ze naast een passie voor theorie, ook interesse in organiseren en communicatie. Om hier meer over te leren loopt ze stage bij de nieuwsredactie van dansdocent.nu en bij ArtEZ Studium Generale. Daarnaast is Christianne ook bezig met online communicatie, bijvoorbeeld via Instagram en YouTube. Op YouTube heeft ze ondertussen haar eigen kanaal, waar ze de kijkers meeneemt in haar dagelijkse bezigheden als beginnende dansondernemer. Naast dat ze zelf van start gaat als ondernemer in het danswerkveld, studeert Christianne ook door aan de Universiteit van Utrecht in Communicatie- en informatiewetenschappen.

Christianne has the ambition to be a choreographer and teacher simultaneously. She works amongst others in community arts, where she teaches and creates choreographies (on site) with diverse target groups. For example with elderly people, mentally or physically disabled people, kids, adults, teenagers and combinations of all of the above. She developed a passion for teaching improvisation, modern, jazz and urban contemporary during her education at ArtEZ. Christianne completed a two year Honours Programme at ArtEZ University of the Arts, with an artistic research on audience participation within choreographies. She now implements the outcomes of this research in her daily practice as well.
Christianne is also interested in communication and organizing. Therefore she has followed internships at the news department of dansdocent.nu and at ArtEZ Studium Generale. In her spare time, Christianne likes to develop her online communication skills. For example on Instagram and with her own YouTube channel. For her graduation thesis, Christianne researched how (non-) highly sensitive dance entrepreneurs can create a sustainable career in the Dutch dance work field. For example how one can prevent a burnout.
While starting a career as a dance entrepreneur next year, Christianne will continue her education at the University of Utrecht in Communication and Informational Sciences.
