Na een havodiploma behaald te hebben op de Theaterschool in Rotterdam, is Maite begonnen aan de Bachelor Docent Dans bij ArtEZ. Beide scholen besteden aandacht aan ondernemerskwaliteiten en bevorderen onafhankelijkheid. Nu ze bijna afgestudeerd is, wordt het tijd om de stap naar onafhankelijkheid echt te maken. Haar focus ligt als vierdejaars op choreograferen en het geven van lessen gericht op maken en gebruiken van dans en beweging in performance. Ze is actief geweest als dansdocent op de mbo Theaterschool in Rotterdam, om de artiest-studenten te onderwijzen in improvisatie, dansmaken en performen vanuit beweging. Als choreograaf is Maite actief geweest in een samenwerking met Theater de Plaats vanuit ArtEZ. Haar scriptie betrof een praktijkonderzoek naar dans(improvisatie) en astronomie. Na het halen van een diploma aan ArtEZ wil Maite in deze trant verder: doceren vanuit een makende en/of performende invalshoek, en ook zal ze actief zijn als choreograaf. Haar onderzoeksdrang, interdisciplinaire aanpak en doelgerichtheid om dans(theater) te maken liggen voor het grijpen voor theaters, organisaties, gezelschappen en scholen. Maite staat ervoor open om op verschillende plekken, met uiteenlopende werkzaamheden aan de slag te gaan. Ze houdt van afwisseling en nieuwe uitdagingen.

After having obtained her diploma in senior general secondary education (havo) at Theaterschool in Rotterdam, Maite started the Bachelor Dance in Education programme at ArtEZ. Both schools encourage entrepreneurial qualities and independence. Now, as she is graduating, the time has come for Maite to take that final step towards independence. Maite’s focus in her senior year has been on choreography and teaching dance with an eye for creating and using dance and movement in performance. She has been active as a dance teacher at the senior secondary vocational (mbo) division of Theaterschool in Rotterdam, teaching the art students improvisation, dance creation and performance based on movement. As a choreographer, Maite has been active in a partnership with Theater de Plaats from ArtEZ. Her thesis focused on practical research of dance (improvisation) and astronomy. After her graduation from ArtEZ, Maite wants to continue down this road: teaching from a creating and/or performing angle, as well as working as a choreographer. She is eager to make her inquisitive mind, interdisciplinary approach and focus on creating dance (theatre) available to theatres, organizations, companies and schools. Maite is open to working in different places, developing different activities. She enjoys change and new challenges.
